Hot Water Tank Burst in Sloan, NY

The old hot water tank finally kicked the bucket and unfortunately while the customer was out of town.  The neighbor discovered the flooded basement while he was routinely checking on the home.  The homeowner called SERVPRO of east Erie County for assistance.  SERVPRO was able to get all required forms signed via email, sent photos of the damage to the customer, called the plumber to replace the hot water tank, got authorization from the insurance company and started water mitigation.  The hot water caused delamination to the carpet and the bottom part of the dry wall was crumbling. The carpet was removed and dry wall cut out two feet up. SERVPRO moved the furniture and content back in forth in order to remove the water and clean.  Drying equipment was set up to dry out the structure.  After photos were emailed to the customer putting him at ease so he could enjoy the rest of his vacation.
